Got a default on your credit file holding up a loan, car finance, or rental? Here’s exactly how we help — no jargon.
What’s a default, in plain terms?
A “default” is a black mark a company (a bank, telco, energy retailer, or buy-now-pay-later provider) puts on your credit file when they say you owed $150 or more and it went unpaid for 60+ days. It can sit on your file for 5 years and can get loans declined or push your interest rate up — even after you’ve paid the debt.
What Default Gone does
We review your default for legal grounds to dispute it, then prepare and formally lodge that dispute with the credit provider and the credit reporting body on your behalf — and track it through to an outcome. We pursue every pathway under the Privacy Act 1988. We don’t promise removal — nobody honest can — but we do the work properly.
How to lodge — 5 steps
- Start the intake. Go to defaultgone.com.au/scan — five quick questions, about a minute. It’s free and there’s no charge to ask questions.
- Sign the service agreement. Plain-language agreement so you know exactly what we’ll do.
- Pay the flat fee. $399 per default, per person. Card via Stripe or Australian bank transfer. No stage fees, no success fee, no surprise invoice.
- Verify your ID & upload your credit report. This lets us act for you with the credit provider and bureau.
- We get to work. We draft and lodge the dispute, track it, keep you updated, and escalate if needed.
What it costs
$399 flat, per consumer, per default. That covers the review, the dispute preparation, formal lodgement, tracking, follow-up, and escalation if it’s required. No hourly billing, no percentage, no “guaranteed removal” gimmick. Buy-now-pay-later defaults (Afterpay, Zip, humm and similar) are a reduced $299 per listing.
How long does it take?
Most files resolve in 30 to 60 days from formal lodgement, depending on how fast the credit provider responds. Some take longer if external review is needed. We keep you posted at every step.
What are the possible outcomes?
- Removed — the listing comes off your file.
- Corrected — a detail (date, amount, status) is fixed.
- Declined — the listing is confirmed lawful on the facts; we’ll tell you straight.
- Escalated — the provider’s response is unsatisfactory and it goes to external review (included in your fee).
