Got rejected because of a default?
Let’s challenge it properly.

An old default can block a home loan, car finance, a phone plan or even a rental — often years after you’ve paid it. Default Gone challenges unfair, incorrect or unlawfully listed defaults under the Privacy Act 1988. Checking is free — you only pay the $399 flat fee if you decide to lodge.

Got a default? You've got options. We help Australians challenge unfair, incorrect or unlawfully listed defaults. Start your dispute now.
Why defaults hurt

One default can hold your life up

You may have paid the debt. You may have moved address. You may have never received a notice. You may have been in hardship. You may simply disagree with the amount. And yet a single default listing on your credit file can mean finance declined, higher interest rates, rentals rejected, business finance held up, or the embarrassment of a broker telling you “there’s a problem on your file”. You do not have to simply accept it without checking whether it was listed correctly.

We challenge defaults where there are grounds to dispute them

Default Gone is a credit dispute service. We review the listing, prepare a structured dispute, send it to the credit provider and the credit reporting body, and track the response on your behalf. We look at issues such as whether proper notice was served, whether the amount, date or account details are correct, whether the payment history was recorded truthfully, whether hardship or payment arrangements were in place, and whether the listing is incomplete or out of date. We do not promise removal. No one honest can. What we do promise is a clear, structured dispute process built around Australian credit reporting rules.

How it works: 1. Tell us about the default. 2. Upload your credit report. 3. We prepare and lodge the dispute. 4. You get a clear outcome. Simple. Fast. Structured.

You could do it yourself. Most people don’t want to.

Yes, you can lodge a correction request directly with the credit provider and the credit reporting body. The framework is open to every Australian. Most people are busy, stressed, or unsure where to start — that’s where Default Gone fits. We prepare your dispute, lodge it, track it, and keep you updated.

One flat fee. No games.

$399 per consumer, per default. That covers the review, the dispute preparation, formal lodgement to the credit provider and the credit reporting body, tracking through the response window, follow-up correspondence, and the escalation pathway if it’s required — with updates throughout. No stage fees. No hourly billing. No success fee. No fake “guaranteed removal” pitch.

Trusted by Aussies. Transparent pricing. Real results. $399 per consumer, per default. No stage fees, 24/7 support, Australia-wide, clear process. We operate under the Privacy Act 1988.
Paid the default but it's still on your file? Paying it doesn't always remove it. If it was incorrectly listed, it may still be worth challenging. Check your default.

What can happen?

Removed. The credit provider accepts the dispute and the listing comes off your file.

Corrected. The listing remains but a detail is amended — the amount, the date, the status or the listing entity.

Updated. The status is updated (for example, an outstanding default updated to “paid”).

Declined. The credit provider declines and we tell you exactly what was decided and why; where grounds remain, escalation is included.

We do not sell certainty. We sell the work. Outcomes depend on the facts of each case — we do not guarantee removal.

Paid it? It can still hurt you.

Paying a default does not always remove it from your credit file. If it was listed incorrectly, sent to the wrong address or recorded with the wrong amount, it may still be worth challenging.

Rejected for finance?

Before you apply again, check the default. Repeated finance applications may not fix the problem. A structured dispute may be the better first step.

Court judgement showing?

Judgements are different from ordinary defaults. Default Gone can connect you with a lawyer-led review pathway where appropriate.

No fake promises

We do not guarantee removal. We do the work: review, prepare, lodge, track and explain the outcome.
